Franklin Man Charged with Assualt by Pointing a Gun
Franklin -- December 21, 2022: On Tuesday, officers from the Franklin Police Department were called to the Bidwell Street neighborhood in response to a report of an
altercation with a firearm.
A resident confronted a man he saw wandering near his house, whom he suspected of breaking into his vehicle. The defendant is accused of aiming a firearm at the victim during the confrontation.
The suspect fled the scene on foot. Officers with the Franklin Police Department started investigating the incident immediately, eventually arrested 24-year-old Michael David Wright of Franklin
on charges of "Assault by Pointing a Gun."
Macon County, NC Sheriff's Office assisted FPD in serving the warrant at the suspect's residence.
