Asheville Police Investigating Shooting that Injured One Person
Asheville -- September 15 2022: the Asheville Police Department are looking into a shooting that happened early Monday evening in west Asheville. One man was hurt in the shooting.
Around 5:55 p.m. on Sept. 12, APD Patrol Officers went to the 200 block of Deaverview Road after hearing gunshots. When the police got to the scene, they saw a man who had been shot. Buncombe County EMS took him to Mission Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Detectives and forensic technicians from the APD's Criminal Investigations Division also came to the scene to investigate.
Detectives are working to identify a possible suspect and are asking anyone who may have information about the case to send an anonymous tip by texting TIP2APD to 847411. Since January 1, 2022, the Asheville Police Department has responded to 350 calls for service reporting shots fired or someone being shot. There have been 31 people confirmed shot in Asheville this year.
