Asheville Man Faces Mutliple Child Sex Crime Charges
Asheville -- August 26, 2022: Following a protracted investigation, detectives with the Asheville Police Department's computer crimes unit charged a man with muliple charges of child sex crimes.
With a $80,000 secured bond, Joseph David Ostler was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility Thursday
after turning himself in. 38 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of minors and two cases of second-degree sexual exploitation of minors were brought against him.
As members of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, APD Detectives with the Computer Crimes Unit followed up on cybertips they had received, and the investigation got underway in September 2021.
