according to an investigation by Patrol Officers with the Asheville Police Department.

In the first instance, at roughly two in the morning on August 23, officers detained a man for breaking into two shops on the 1400 block of Patton Avenue. After responding to business alarms at one of the establishments, the Officers were able to work closely with the owner to identify the culprit and, after a thorough investigation, take him into jail.

Alcoholic beverages were among the stolen things discovered with the suspect, although it was later confirmed that they were not taken from the scene. Further investigation by the Officers revealed that these stolen goods were connected to another neighboring company burglary, which resulted in more charges.

Officers discovered two individuals at the establishment who were robbing cars of their catalytic converters when they got on the scene at 2:30 a.m. The two suspects fled as the officers drew near them, and a "foot pursuit" ensued.
