The South Asheville Turkey Trot presented by Hunter Subaru returns to Biltmore Park Town Square for the 2021 edition. Due to the pandemic in 2020, the event moved to Fletcher, North Carolina.
Race Director, Daphne Kirkwood said, “We are so excited to be able to return to Biltmore Park Town Square in South Asheville on the most popular running holiday in the United States. We can’t wait to welcome back our community and visitors to WNC for the Thanksgiving Holiday. This will be like the largest family reunion ever!”

Thanksgiving is the largest running holiday with families all over the country! Turkey Trots are a great way to start the day. Join us at Biltmore Park Town Square and enjoy some fresh air and exercise before gathering around the table for your Thanksgiving feast! You’ll share miles and smiles with your family and friends as part of this fun, annual tradition.
This year’s race is limited to only 1,500 in-person participants.
The race is located in Biltmore Park Town Square in South Asheville, North Carolina. The entire race is run throughout the Town Square and the surrounding neighborhoods within Biltmore Park.
There is plenty of parking near the start and finish. Bring your entire family and celebrate Thanksgiving with us for this holiday, annual tradition.

In Person 5K
Start Times: 9am-9:15am - rolling start
Virtual 5K: Want to be part of the annual event, but not able to participate in person? Join us anytime from anywhere for the Virtual 5k. Submit your time online and receive the awesome race shirt and medal in the mail.
Please Note: The time limit for the course is TBD.
We strongly encourage competitive runners, looking for a fast time, to be in the front of the line-up at the start. fast runners to sign up for the first wave!
In Person Race is capped at 1,500 participants.
Course Type: This 5K is a fully marked course, on pavement with rolling to moderate inclines and hills.
Stroller friendly? Yes, but please start at the back of the pack.
Dogs allowed? We love our furry friends, but due to the nature of this race and the congestion in and around the start/finish areas, please leave your pets at home.

• Sunday, November 7th at midnight. After this date the shirts are $10 for purchase, in limited sizes and quantities.

Mannna Food Bank: We are proud to say that for years the proceeds from our Turkey Trot benefit MANNA FoodBank. In 2019, over 2,400 runners helped create 18,400 meals for MANNA during the holiday season. By registering for our event, you help give back to our community. Together, we can help increase food security and fight hunger for our neighbors in Western North Carolina!

Registration ends on November 23, 2021 at 11:59PM EST. While we encourage online registration, there will be on-site registration available at Pack Square Park the morning of the race.

Race Information
Packet Pickup: There are two options for packet pickup. The first is Wednesday November 24th at Brookstone Church (283 Merrimon Ave) from 4PM-7PM. The second is Thursday November 25th (race day) at Pack Square Park from 7AM-8:45AM.
Start Time: Turkey Trot starts at 9:15AM. Gobble Wobble 1 Mile Fun Run starts at 8:30AM.
Course Description:
Race Starts and ends at Pack Square Park: 80 Court Plaza, Asheville, NC 28801
Original course start turn by turn description:
Start at the island on Woodfin St in front of the YMCA
Proceed toward Central Ave, right on Central to the top of the hill, right on Chestnut St.
Left on Charlotte St. Continue on Charlotte to Evelyn Place turn left. Continue down, cross
Edwin Place to Murdock Ave. Left on Murdock. Continue to Hillside St.
Right on Hillside. Contine up to Libert St. Right on Liberty. Continue straight, crossing Chestnut St.
Remain on Liberty to Orange St. Left on Orange St the right on Chestnut St back to Woodfin St.
Left on Woodfin. Woodfin changes names to Oak St. Turn right on College St. (traffic circle).
Continue up College briefly, turn left into City/County Plaza to finish.
