Asheville -- August 16, 2021: Asheville police reported an incident of gun fire on Walton Street in Asheville.

Twenty-seven shell casings from three guns were located on Walton Street after officers responded to multiple calls for service for gunshots. A bullet was located inside an occupied home. Fortunately, no one was injured. This happened around 9:54 p.m. on August 14.

Since January 1, 2021, the Asheville Police Department has responded to 358 calls for service reporting gunshots or someone shot. In addition, 27 people have been shot in Asheville.
