Haywood County reports 104th COVID-19 death
Haywood County -- Thursday August 12, 2021, Haywood County Health and Human Services reported the 104th COVID-10 death in Haywood County, North Carolina.
The person died at Haywood County Regional Medical Center on August 6, 2021.
In the statement below, Haywood County Health and Human Services sends condolences to the family and "ask everyone to consider the pain and loss this virus can bring with it and do everything you can to help prevent its spread.”

Haywood County reports 104th COVID-19 death
Haywood County Health and Human Services have received notice of another COVID-19 death. Total COVID deaths in Haywood County are now 104.
This individual was between the ages of 70-75 and died at Haywood Regional Medical Center on August 6, 2021. COVID-19 is listed as the underlying cause of death. The immediate cause of death was hypoxic respiratory failure. The other underlying cause of death was bacterial pneumonia.
To protect the family’s privacy, no further information about the patient will be released.
“We at Haywood County Health and Human Services extend our deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones during this time of loss,” said Health Director Sarah Henderson.
“COVID-19 is a serious and sometimes deadly illness. We ask everyone to consider the pain and loss this virus can bring with it and do everything you can to help prevent its spread.”
“We urge everyone to continue to be vigilant about masking and social distancing any time you’re going to be around people who are unvaccinated or in large group settings. Wash your hands regularly, and stay home if you’re not feeling well,” said Henderson.
