Asheville -- Asheville Police Department August 9, 2021 

Asheville Police Department reported a shooting in Asheville this morning. An argument over a video console led to the shooting in an apartment.

An argument over a video console ended in a shooting. The victim was shot once in the arm and did not want to be treated at the hospital. One additional person was in the apartment sleeping when the shooting occurred. The incident happened at 3:21 a.m. on August 8 on the porch of an apartment on Granada Street.

Since January 1, 2021 the Asheville Police Department has responded to 345 calls for service reporting gunshots or someone shot. In addition, 26 people have been shot in Asheville.
