Asheville -- Asheville Police March 29, 2021: Over the weekend two shootings happened in Asheville in different parts of the

city. Fortunately, no one was injured.
▪️ The first shooting happened at 9:42 p.m. on March 26 on Atkinson Street. Officers found 9 shell casings and multiple vehicles with bullet holes.
▪️ The second shooting happened at 12:54 a.m. on March 28 on Brooklyn Road. Officers found 1 shell casing and did not receive any reports of property that was damaged.

Since January 1, 2021 the Asheville Police Department (APD) has received 124 calls for service reporting a shooting or someone being shot. During the same time period in 2020 there were 127 calls for service. In addition, 5 people have been injured by a gunshot wound in Asheville since January 1, 2021.
