Sarge's March e-news is here. Catch up with Sarge's happenings. Happy spring, everyone! March 25, 2021
Sargeโs added a new shirt to its Bonfire store — this one to honor Sargeโs official mascot and super nanny, Sunshine.
Sunshine came to Sargeโs November 2016, by way of the Haywood County Animal Servicesโ rescue of 140 dogs from a hoarding case.
She was pregnant, giving birth to her litter within a day or two of arrival at the temporary shelter.
It turned out that Sunshine is diabetic and has exocrine pancreatic insufficiency or EPI, so she requires daily insulin injections and a strict diet with a supplement to replace her pancreatic enzymes.
โBecause of her special needs, she wasn't getting adopter interest, and we discovered that she is an awesome nanny for singleton puppies who need some warmth and reassurance,โ said Nancy Bulluck, Sargeโs medical assistant, social media manager, and founder.
She was โhiredโ as a staff member November 2018, two years after she came to Sargeโs.
โSunshine is very happy with her routine at the Adoption Center, where her kennel is front and center,โ Nancy said. โFrom that vantage point, she's able to supervise staff and maintain a smooth operation.โ
Check out the new Sunshine shirts, in a variety of styles and colors, at Sargeโs Bonfire store. Now, all the great Sargeโs shirts are available for order in one place.
