Haywood County reports 43rd COVID-19 death

Haywood County Health and Human Services is reporting the countyโ€™s 43rd COVID-19 death. 

COVID-19 was listed as the primary cause of death for this individual who was a resident of Autumn Care and was between the ages of 60 - 65.  To protect the familyโ€™s privacy, no further information about the patient will be released.

โ€œWe at Haywood County Health and Human Services extend our deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones during this time of loss,โ€ said Interim Health Director Garron Bradish. โ€œCOVID-19 is a serious and sometimes deadly illness, and case numbers are rising rapidly in our community.โ€

โ€œWe urge everyone to be vigilant about masking and social distancing any time youโ€™re going to be around anyone who doesnโ€™t live in your household. Wash your hands regularly, and stay home if youโ€™re not feeling well. Now, more than ever, we need everyone in the community using every tool in the intervention toolbox to help slow the spread,โ€ said Bradish.
