Gaston, NC -- July 12, 2020: The follwing was posted on Facebook: Gaston Fire-Rescue-EMS was dispatched at 8:02 this morning to NC 48 Highway

in Pleasant Hill in reference to a vehicle in the woods on fire. Upon arrival, a sedan was found split in two and was fully engulfed in flames. Surrounding brush was also found on fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire to find that three males had been ejected and were deceased. Units remained on scene for nearly two hours and the highway remained closed to one lane of travel during the incident. Also on the scene was NC Highway Patrol, Northampton County Sheriffโ€™s Department, NC Forestry Service, and Northampton County EMS. NC Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
