GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina woman is hospitalized in critical condition after she was intentionally set on fire during a domestic dispute, police said.

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a call of an assault at a residence on Wednesday, news sources reported Thursday. When they arrived, officers found Latonya McCoy, 39, suffering from severe burns.

Police said in a news release that McCoy was taken to a local hospital before she was transferred to the burn unit at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
