Mitchell County Animal Rescue Need Donations to care for neglected animals
Mitchell County,NC -- Mitchell County Animal Rescue -- Face Book Post: EMERGENCY NEED
These animals are from a neglect call in Mitchell County that was a joint investigation of Mitchell County Animal Rescue and the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department. In all, 4 horses, 2 dogs and 19 cats have been surrendered. More cats will likely be surrendered in the next week or two. We would like to thank the public for alerting us of this situation, which allowed us to help these animals. Also thanks to Mitchell County Emergency Management for assisting and to Foothills Mobile Veterinary Service for coming out so quickly to help and Stewart's Mountain View Animal Hospital. We are asking for the financial support of the community to help us get through this time and cover our impending large vet bills, as MCAR was already operating at full capacity at the time of the intake of these animals. Donations of money to cover these unexpected costs are urgently needed. As are donations of shelter supplies, alfalfa cubes, senior horse feed, rubber feeding tubs, (available at Grassy Creek Hardware and Fox Bothers Feed Store), horse halters and lead ropes, non-clumping clay cat litter, cleaning supplies, etc. A wish list of items needed is available on our website at Mitchell County Animal Rescue . We also need volunteers or foster homes willing to take in cats or dogs for temporary care. Monetary donations can be made online at our website, on Facebook, by phone at 828-765-6952 or by mail at PO Box 308, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
