WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina’s governor has announced a new council to advise him on strategies to bring more film and television production to the state.

The StarNews of Wilmington reports Gov. Roy Cooper announced the creation of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Film, Television and Digital Streaming on Tuesday at the EUE/Screen Gems Studios lot in Wilmington.

The secretary of the state Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Susi Hamilton, will lead the council.

Cooper made the announcement on a sound stage for Hulu’s upcoming series “Reprisal,” which is wrapping up production on its first season. In the audience was “Dawson’s Creek” creator Kevin Williamson, who is back in town to produce a horror film starring Oscar winner Russell Crowe.
