French Broad River At Blantyre affecting Henderson and Transylvania Counties Heavy rainfall of 2-5 inches across Transylvania County over the past 24 hours is causing excessive runoff, resulting in significant rises in the headwaters of the French Broad River and associated tributaries including the Davidson and Little Rivers. This will cause the upper French Broad River from Brevard to Etowah and Horse Shoe to rise above Minor Flood Stage, resulting in inundation of adjacent low-lying areas including farmland and boat access ramps. The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flood Warning for the French Broad River At Blantyre.

* from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon...or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 10:30 PM Sunday the stage was 14.6 feet

* Minor Flood Stage is 16.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* FORECAST: The river will rise above Minor Flood Stage by Monday morning and continue to rise to near 16.5 feet by early Monday afternoon. The river will fall below Minor Flood Stage by early Tuesday morning.

* Impact...At 16.0 feet...Minor Flood Stage. Farmland flooding continues on both sides of the French Broad River. Floodwaters begin to impact boat access areas at Grove Bridge Rd. and Crab Creek Rd.

* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Action/Advisory Stage. Most farm fields are flooding between the French Broad River and Brevard Rd. and between the French Broad River and Pleasant Grove Rd.

* AFFECTED AREAS: TRANSYLVANIA, NC ... HENDERSON, NC
