The Pigeon Center is the hub for an after-school program for kids from kindergarten through 10th grade. Temporarily, those efforts are being run out of a nearby church.

On Jan. 8, a grease fire torched the kitchen and caused some $100,000 in damage.]

The center has March 22 as a reopening date. That’s the day of a spring fish fry.
