
Man in Macon County Charged with Murder
Macon County -- Press Release: Deputies were notified of a potential homicide in Macon County on April 19, 2025. When they arrived, they found a suspect and a scene that fit the information given.
Detectives from the Sheriff's Office were called to the scene to begin an investigation after the suspect was taken into custody.
The deceased's body was found shortly after that. To help with the crime scene, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) was called in.
As a result of the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office has charged Christopher Allen Laws, age 53, with the following offenses:
- NCGS 14-17: Second Degree Murder
- NCGS 14-410.22(e): Concealment of a Death
In consideration of the family's privacy, the Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing the name of the victim at this time.
