Asheville Police Department Mourns the Passing of K9 Officer Bolo

Asheville --  Press Release Asheville Police Department: It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that on the evening of April 17th,

Asheville Police Department K9 Officer Bolo passed away due to an aggressive and fast-moving medical condition.

Officer Bolo became a part of the APD in 2018, partnered with Senior Police Officer Nathaniel Smith. Officer Bolo was highly trained in a dual-purpose capacity, serving in both Explosive Ordinance Disposal and patrol apprehension roles. He leaves us after eight years of honorable service to our community, our department, and, most importantly, SPO Smith and his family.

The Asheville Police Department will soon honor Officer Bolo's service and will share that information when it is available so the public may also honor his memory.
