Buncombe County -- Detectives from the Asheville Police Department are looking into a shooting that occurred in east Asheville early on Sunday morning.

Around 1:07 a.m. on April 13, officers were called to the 800 block of Fairview Road in reference to a victim who had been shot.  Officers found a victim who had been shot in the arm and started to help before emergency medical personnel could arrive.  The victim had non-life-threatening injuries when they were sent to Mission Hospital.

According to the preliminary inquiry, the victim tried to flee by entering a parking lot after being forcefully chased by another car for approximately a mile.  The car followed the victim into the parking lot, and once both cars had stopped, the suspect fired several shots, hitting the victim at least once before running away.
