Mitchell County Man Faces Multiple Charges Following Investigation

Mitchell County --  Mitchell County detectives were investigating Robert Hileman for a prior breaking and entering (B&E) in Mitchell County and had a warrant for him for felony larceny that the Spruce Pine Police Department had issued. 

Officers were able to stop Hileman near Chalk Mountain on U.S. Route 19E. During the stop, some of the stolen property was recovered.

Robert Bruce Hileman (age 33) Charges:

Possess Methamphetamine 
Felony B & E 
Larceny after B&E
Larceny of a Motor Vehicle 
Possess Stolen Property 
Simple Possession of Vi (Marijuana)
Possess Drug Paraphernalia 
Resist Public Officer (4 CT’s)
Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Communicating Threats
Court Date: April 2, 2025 
Bond: $45,000
Innocent until proven guilty
