Three People Arrested in Multi State Crime Spree

Rutherford County -- Rutherford County Sheriff's Office: On February 26, 2025, Deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s

responded to multiple calls from Dollar Generals in Rutherford County in reference to several suspects that had passed fake $50 bills.

The suspects had obtained approximately $1,500 from the multiple locations that they had visited.

On February 27, 2025, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division began working the case and were able to obtain video surveillance from 4 different Dollar Generals within Rutherford County. Investigators began contacting other nearby agencies to make them aware of the scam and to inquire if they had any similar cases. Investigators were able to identify a potential suspect vehicle and were able to utilize Flock technology from Forest City Police Department and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office to obtain further information on the vehicle. Through this technology, Investigators determined that the suspect vehicle was a 2012 Toyota Camry displaying an Illinois license plate. After identifying the vehicle, Investigators were able to determine that the suspects had been in multiple states including Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia and that the suspects had been committing the same scam in multiple states.

As a result of this investigation, warrants were secured on Nestor Julio Godoy Rivero, Yubeinya Abril Narcise Quintana, and Esteban Marcelo Mijares (all from Chicago, Illinois). As a result of the investigative work of the Criminal Investigation Division, the subjects were located and arrested in Dubois County Indiana on March 1, 2025.

Nestor Julio Godoy Rivero (25 years old) was charged with Possession of 5 or more Counterfeit Instruments (x6), Obtain Property by False Pretense (x1), and Felony Conspiracy (x1). He is currently incarcerated in Indiana.

Yubeinya Abril Narcise Quintana (22 years old) was charged with Possession of 5 or more Counterfeit Instruments (x6), Obtain Property by False Pretense (x1), and Felony Conspiracy (x1). She is currently incarcerated in Indiana.

Esteban Marcelo Mijares (24 years old) charged with Possession of 5 or more Counterfeit Instruments (x6), Obtain Property by False Pretense (x1), and Felony Conspiracy (x1). He is currently incarcerated in Indiana.
