āWe opened the sanctuary on 10 beautiful acres, with one leaky old barn and a weathered farmhouse, along with a handful of animals. At the time, there were not many options in WNC for farmed animals needing help. Then, within several weeks of opening, we were involved in several difficult rescue situations involving hundreds of animals and we continue to take in animals in need. These animals have taught us so much and inspired us with their resilience, grace and beauty. Also a huge thank you to all of our volunteers and supporters. Thank you for all the hay bales stacked, feed bags hauled, and barns cleaned, for all the animals fed, transported, vetted, petted and for all of the in-kind and monetary donations.ā
As a community we are so grateful to Trina and Barb for their sacrifices and vision. Happy Birthday Animal Haven and we canāt wait to celebrate with you all on the 31st! You are missed Barb but we know you will be there with us. #asheville #petrescue #events

Mountain Mobility Trailblazer Routes (Buncombe County Public Transit) are also free 365 days a year! These routes connect ART bus routes to Enka/Candler (which can be used to transfer to Haywood County), North Buncombe (including Woodfin and Weaverville), and Black Mountain.
