City of Asheville: Have you seen the new sports court at Roger Farmer Park in West Asheville?
Built with basketball, futsal, and skating in mind, the court also has beautiful views of the rest of the park as it sits high on hill above two diamond ballfields, a multipurpose field and lawn, and picnic shelter. 🏀 ⚽ 🛼 ⚾ 🥎 🏈 🥍 🥏 🌳
This awesome park on Deaverview Road experiencing a bit of a renaissance is a welcoming spot to toss a disc or ball, get in a pickup game, hang out with friends and family, and much more. Stop by soon to discover this (somewhat) hidden gem! #as

Animal Hven of Asheville: While our 25th Anniversary Celebration is being held on the 31st today is the actual Birthday of Animal Haven. Here are some words from a memory written by Barb and Trina who made the sacrifices necessary to create this special spot.
“We opened the sanctuary on 10 beautiful acres, with one leaky old barn and a weathered farmhouse, along with a handful of animals. At the time, there were not many options in WNC for farmed animals needing help. Then, within several weeks of opening, we were involved in several difficult rescue situations involving hundreds of animals and we continue to take in animals in need. These animals have taught us so much and inspired us with their resilience, grace and beauty. Also a huge thank you to all of our volunteers and supporters. Thank you for all the hay bales stacked, feed bags hauled, and barns cleaned, for all the animals fed, transported, vetted, petted and for all of the in-kind and monetary donations.”
As a community we are so grateful to Trina and Barb for their sacrifices and vision. Happy Birthday Animal Haven and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all on the 31st! You are missed Barb but we know you will be there with us.
