Mitchell County Sheriff's Office received information on May 2, 2025, regarding potential wanted persons at a home on Emerald Lane in Spruce Pine.  

Henderson County -- After a joint investigation by the Sheriff's Office Property Crimes Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Unit, a South Carolina man wanted on several felony offenses was taken into custody in Henderson County.

Woodfin --   Woodfin police released additional details regarding the investigation into the body that was discovered in the French Broad River over the weekend.

Transylvania --  Press Release: Transylvania County Animal Services will be CLOSED to ALL owner canine surrenders and ALL canine adoptions for a minimum of two weeks, effective immediately, under the guidance of our shelter veterinarian for contagious disease canine quarantine.

Asheville -- While performing crime prevention measures near downtown Asheville on Sunday evening, officers from the Asheville Police Department detained a man who was in possession of drugs and had many outstanding warrants.

Woodfin -- Authorities are continuing their efforts to identify the body discovered by fishermen in the French Broad River in Woodfin over the weekend.
