Asheville -- Nov 21, 2019 - The Asheville Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating Shannon Leigh Adams (42), of Asheville. Adams is currently wanted for failing to appear in court for two offenses of simple assault, and one offense of violating a domestic violence protection order. In addition, Adams has been indicted on one count of kidnapping following an offense at the Roger McGuire Green in downtown Asheville on August 9, 2019.

Adams is described as a white female, 5'6" tall, and approximately 160 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Macon County Sheriff's Office -- Nov 19, 2019 : Law enforcement are actively searching for a suspect after she fled the courthouse following receiving an active sentence on other charges. Kaitlin Fitzgibbons was arrested as recently as yesterday for stealing ginseng but bonded immediately on those charges (True Bill of Indictment).

Buncombe County Sheriff's Office -- On November 13th, Keith William Grandy, a teacher at North Buncombe High School, was charged with two counts of Sex Acts With a Student and taken into custody by the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office. A search warrant was executed on Mr. Grandy’s residence on the evening of November 13. His bond has been set at $65,000.

Mr. Grandy has been suspended from his teaching duties by Buncombe County Schools since the onset of our investigation. These criminal acts did not take place on the school campus. When school administrators learned of the allegations, the case was immediately turned over to the Sheriff’s Office.

Raleigh -- NCDHHS Press Release - Nov 12, 2019To support communities in improving outcomes for young children and families, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has released county data for the 10 goals and more than 50 measures that are part of the state’s Early Childhood Action Plan. These new data reports are available for all 100 counties and cover issues such as infant mortality, food and housing security, emergency room visits, child health, foster care, early learning and early literacy.
