Buncombe Couty NC Center -- Getting to certain parts of Leicester using public transportation will get easier starting next year. On Nov. 5, Buncombe County Commissioners unanimously approved helping fund the City of Asheville’s bus system to expand coverage on route W4. The nearly $29,000 will help fund an extension of two miles and four stops for seven-day service to: Erwin Middle and High schools, the Villas at Fallen Spruce, and Carmel Ridge Apartments.

FACE BOOK-- Brother Wolf : It was a shock when staff came into work and found boxes full of 45 rabbits left outside our doors. We had a moment of panic, we didn't have any rabbit supplies, or the funds to get them all spayed & neutered. Luckily this amazing community stepped up for the animals and helped us with everything they needed. They quickly became spoiled bunnies!

Raleigh -- Press Release NCDHHS: Nov 25, 2019        
A new federal grant will help North Carolina partner with local justice systems — including local law enforcement, courts and others — to prevent opioid overdoses and connect people to treatment. Governor Roy Cooper announced today that the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) was awarded $6.5 million over the next three years by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance.

NC -- (AP) Press Release Nov 26, 2019 -- The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has agreed to expand its anti-bias training and expressly forbid anti-Semitism in campus policies as part of an agreement with the U.S. Education Department following complaints about a March conference featuring a rapper accused of anti-Jewish bias.

Macon County Sheriff's Office -- Announced on Face Book: On November 20th, 2019, in a county wide operation targeting many who have been involved in the sales and/or distribution of narcotics and absconding fugitives, officers with the Macon County Sheriff's Office, NC DPS Probation, NC State Bureau of Investigation and Department of Homeland Security conducted searches of residences, traffic stops and executed search and arrest warrants resulting in the arrest of 19 individuals within Macon County for narcotics related offenses and/or outstanding warrants. In addition to these 19 suspects, 4 others were being sought and as of this release there are three who continue to be listed as “Wanted Fugitives”.
