(AP) North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper responded to President Donald Trump’s plan to reopen the economy by stressing that the state needs the federal government’s help supplying medical professionals to ramp up COVID-19 testing.

Haywood County -- Haywood County COVID-19 Beginning Monday, April 20, the Haywood County COVID-19 Hotline hours will be adjusted from  8 a.m. to 7 p.m., 7 days a week to the new hours of Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Center will be closed on Sunday.

Governor Roy Cooper today charted a path forward for eventually easing certain COVID-19 restrictions while still protecting North Carolinians from a dangerous second wave of the virus.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina will need more widespread COVID-19 testing, extensive efforts to track down people in contact with the sick and slowed case and hospital rates before movement and commerce restrictions can ease, Gov. Roy Cooper said on Wednesday.
