Mitchell County Upcoming Town Hall Meeting

Bakersville, NC -- February 5, 2025 – Mitchell County officials invite residents to a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at

 5:30 PM at Bowman Middle School, located at 410 S Mitchell Ave, Bakersville, NC.

The event will focus on the next phase of recovery following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, providing critical updates. The Town Hall will cover updates on stream debris removal, plans for hazard mitigation, guidelines and assistance for private property debris removal, and information on the na opportunity for residents to place debris on the right of way for county pickup.  Additionally, attendees will have the chance to sign up for Hyper-Reach, the county’s emergency notification system to stay informed about future alerts.

Mitchell County leaders and emergency management officials will be present to answer questions and provide clarity on the recovery process. The meeting is expected to last approximately two hours.
