Asheville -- While lnvestigating community concerns of drug activity in a west Asheville area on Saturday night, investigators from the

 Asheville Police Department arrested a man on drug trafficking charges.

On January 25, after a neighbor complained about illegal drug activities in the vicinity, officers began their crime prevention investigation in West Asheville. At around 8:16 p.m. on January 25, officers tried to contact Angelo Emayi Johnson (12/14/1998) in the vicinity of the 100 block of Johnston Boulevard. Instead, he ran away on foot and was arrested soon after. Johnson was discovered to be in possession of a trafficking quantity of fentanyl at the time of the arrest.

-Resisting Public Officer

17g of fentanyl
352g of liquid containing fentanyl   

Johnson was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $50,000 (or $5,000 to a bondsman) secured bond issued by a magistrate.
