McDowell County -- McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Bobby Jerald Cook, Jr., 50, of Marion with (2 counts) felony Assault with Physical

 Injury on a Law Enforcement Officer. He was denied bond.

On January 10, deputies responded to a Marion address for a domestic assault incident involving Cook, a female resident and her son. As deputies spoke with Cook about what had taken place, he became physically combative with the female resident again. Cook then became combative with deputies as they intervened and was arrested.

Cook was additionally charged with misdemeanor Assault on a Female and misdemeanor Assault on a Child Under 12.
