Asheville -- January 17, 2025: Press Release Asheville Police Department: Asheville Police are investigating two drive-by shootings in which

someone shot multiple rounds in residential areas twice in one night, resulting in one person suffering from a gunshot wound. 

In the first incident, officers responded to Maple Crest Apartments located on Lee Garden Lane to investigate reports of gun discharge around 11:38 p.m. on January 16th. When officers arrived, the suspect was no longer on scene. While canvassing the area, officers located 8 shell casings from two different caliber guns but no property damage.

Shortly thereafter, in the second incident, officers responded to a residence near the 100 block of Edgewood Drive around 12:09 a.m. on January 17th to investigate reports of a gunshot wound victim. When officers arrived, the suspect was no longer on scene. Officers located a victim inside the home who had been shot in the lower leg. The victim was transported to Mission Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Another occupant suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene. While canvassing the area, officers located multiple bullet casings in the street and damage to the home, as well as a nearby vehicle.
