Stompin' Ground Fire in Maggie Valley, Arson Suspected

On December 27, 2024, at approximately 14:22 Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue along with mutual aid were alerted to a commercial structure fire at 3116 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC, at the "Stompin' Ground" location. Engine 17 arrived on scene to find a working fire at the front of the building. Fire crews acted swiftly, extinguishing the flames with minimal extension into the building.

The fire is believed to have been caused by arson. Maggie Valley Police Department is currently leading the investigation, working alongside the Haywood County Fire Marshal and state authorities. A person of interest has been identified, and authorities believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.

The fire was quickly brought under control, and the safety of both responders and the community remains the primary concern.
