Asheville -- November 19, 2024: Sunday morning officers from the Asheville Police Department

apprehended a fugitive from Georgia who was wanted on drug charges.

Officers saw Royce Martin Pouncey (09/04/1987) in a parked car at 8:51 a.m. while engaging in proactive enforcement
on Klondyke Avenue. The investigation led to the discovery that Pouncey possessed 27.5 grams of methamphetamine and was wanted on a Georgia fugitive bench warrant.

Felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia were filed against Pouncey after his arrest, which did not involve any difficulties.

Pouncey was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $34,000 (or $3,400 to a bondsman) secure bond issued by a magistrate.
