Man Charged with Murder in McDowell County

McDowell County -- October 7, 2024: McDowell County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of Justin Tyler Bartlett of Old 

Fort was arrested and charged with murder. 

Around 2 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, deputies and paramedics responded to Twin Lakes Mobile Home Park off Twin Lakes Road in Old Fort, due to a report of a gunshot wound victim. The suspect and male victim were roommates and got into an altercation which led to the shooting. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Bartlette was held without bond and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
