Madison County -- Friday night a tragic car accident on I-26 West near Exit 11 in Madison County claimed the lives

of Thomas Michael Boone, the retired police chief of Marshall, NC, and Ryan Ricky Houston. Boone, who had just celebrated his retirement after 30 years of service, was driving a Ford truck when it was struck head-on by a stolen 2019 Jaguar. Houston, the driver of the Jaguar, traveling the wrong way down the highway. The impact of the collision killed both men instantly, leaving the Marshall community in mourning.

Boone was a respected figure in his community, known for his dedication and service. His sudden death has shocked and saddened many who knew him. Houston, a wanted suspect, had been involved in criminal activities. 

Local authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, while the community remembers Boone for his contributions and commitment to public safety.
