McDowell County Woman Charged with Drug Crimes

McDowell County -- July 22, 2024: McDowell County Sheriff's arrested a woman on July 15, after a traffic stop for an

expired vehicle tag. A search of the car with the help of officers from the Marion Police Department turned up methamphetamine and an unidentified substance that will be sent to the state crime lab for testing.

Shelby Lynn McKinney of Elk Park, NC was charged with the following

Two counts of felony Possession of Methamphetamine Possession of a Controlled Substance on a Jail Premises.
McKinney received no bond, she was out on bond for unrelated charges.
