Buncombe County Man Arrested for Indecent Liberties with a Child

Buncombe County -- June 2, 2024: Detectives with the Major Case Unit of the Buncombe County

Sheriff’s Office have arrested Greg Sharrits, age 60, of Buncombe County, and charged him with Indecent Liberties with a Child. Sharrits is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $20,000.00 bond. 

Detectives with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division work diligently to address these crimes against persons, protect the residents of Buncombe County, and seek justice for survivors of sexual assault. We want to thank those who acted hastily to apprehend Greg Sharrits and provide a sense of peace for the survivor.
