Asheville -- Asheville Police Request Public Avoid Spivey Mountain: The search for Gabriel Thor Crow (01/21/1997), a 27-year-old man reported missing in January, remains ongoing.

Crow was last seen on January 25 on Smokey Park Highway. He is described as a Native American male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, around 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing dark-colored jeans and a black jacket.

Recent information gathered by law enforcement suggests that Mr. Crow may be in the vicinity of Spivey Mountain. A joint operation involving numerous partners will commence on Monday, April 29th, starting at 8:00 A.M, to conduct a comprehensive search of the area.

We kindly request that members of the public avoid the Spivey Mountain area during the aforementioned timeframe. There will be an increase in emergency vehicle traffic, the terrain in the region is notably challenging, and wildlife concerns further underscore the need for caution. We extend our sincere gratitude to the community for their continued cooperation and support during these search efforts.
