Man Sentenced to Minimum 3 Years for Burning of an Occupied Structure
Asheville -- April 15, 2024: Asheville Police News Release: On Monday, a man was sentenced to a minimum of three years
in Buncombe County Superior Court for charges stemming from a fire at the Asheville Outlets in January 2023.
The Asheville Police and Fire Departments initially responded to a reported storage room fire at the Asheville Outlets on Brevard Road on January 11, 2023. The fire damaged the storage room and an adjacent business. A joint criminal investigation determined that Silver intentionally set the Fire.
On April 8, Gregory Seth Silver, 39, pled guilty to Burning and Occupying a Commercial Structure. He was sentenced to serve an active term of 44-65 months in the Divison of Adult Corrections and ordered to pay $11,825.49 in restitution.
