Inmate Attacks Detention Officer in Escape Attempt

Rutherford County -- February 14, 2024: Detention Officer Kristie Bedrin was conducting her regular security rounds in the female block on the evening of January 18, 2024, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

Amanda Warren, an inmate, tried to choke Ofc. Bedrin and threw a blanket over her head as an assault. Quickly securing Inmate Warren in handcuffs, Ofc. Bedrin acted to free herself. It was found that this was all part of a plot by multiple other female prisoners to escape.

Warren was charged for the assault on Ofc. Bedrin.
On February 5, 2024 Inmate Amanda Warren was convicted of Assault on Govt Official/Employee and was sentenced to 150 days.
