APD Arrest Robbery Suspect with Machete
Asheville - The Asheville Police reported officers quickly apprehended a machete-wielding robber Sunday night.
Around 8:26 p.m. on January 21, APD Patrol Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a business near the 960 block of Patton Avenue. A man with a machete confronted two people in the parking lot and stole their wallet and cash before escaping. Before this incident, the suspect tried to rob a third person in the parking lot.
The suspect was found nearby after witnesses gave investigators a strong description. Though he fled on foot, he was shortly caught by authorities. Lamon Lewis Goggans was arrested for all three cases by patrol officers. Charges Below:
-Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon x2
-Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon
-Resisting Public Officer
-Injury to Personal Property
Goggans was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $100,000 secured bond (or $10,000 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.
