Pedestrian Struck and Killed in West Asheville

Asheville -- November 21, 2023: The Asheville Police Department is investigating a West Asheville car crash that killed a pedestrian early Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred on I-240 West at Haywood Road at 4:59 a.m. on November 21. APD Patrol responded. An unknown car west on I-240 hit Ronald William Jenkins, 50 years old, a pedestrian, according to early investigations. Jenkins died on the scene; next of kin has been notified.
