Asheville -- November 8, 2023: Asheville Police Department Officers arrested a man on charges of trafficking cocaine during an investigation related to a report of a person with a gun in West Asheville.

APD Patrol Officers responded to a report of two inebriated individuals with guns near the 770 block of Haywood Road at approximately 11:10 p.m. on November 6. 

When police arrived, they spotted Timothy Austin Dolly in a vehicle in the parking lot. The responding officers were able to detain Dolly safely and continued their investigation. Following that inquiry, the officers learned that the second individual left the location prior to their arrival but was not in possession of a handgun. During the arrest, Dolly was found to be in possession of a trafficking amount of cocaine, as well as a semi-automatic weapon.

Timothy Austin Dolly was arrested and charged with the following:
-2 counts of Trafficking in Cocaine
-Trafficking in Cocaine by Transport
-Felony PWIMSD Cocaine
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Maintaining a Dwelling or Vehicle CS
Seized:
-246.29 grams of suspected Cocaine
-Drug paraphernalia
-FN 510 MDR 10mm pistol
-.45 and 10 mm ammunition

Dolly was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $50,000 secured bond (or $5,000 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.
