Swain County Sheriff's Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

Swain County -- April 24, 2023: On Thursday  Swain County Sheriff's Office Report April 20, 2023:
Swain County deputies conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 19/74 near Highway 28 North for speeding.

During that traffic stop, deputies located approximately 19.8 pounds of marijuana, 1.5 oz of psilocybin (mushrooms), one Suboxone, one hydrocodone, and one oxycodone.

Floyd Eugene Humphrey of Russellville, TN, was charged with the following:
Trafficking marijuana by possession
Trafficking marijuana by transportation
Felony possession of Schedule I controlled substance
Maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances
Speeding
Open container of alcohol
Simple possession of Schedule III
Two counts of Simple possession of Schedule II
