NC Teens Charged with Murder in Shooting Death

Robeson County -- April 5, 2023:  Robeson County Sheriff's office announced the arres of two teens who knew
the deceased, a sixteen (16) year old juvenile from Lumberton.

The two (15) year olds are from Maxton, were apprehended by homicide investigators on Tuesday by the
sheriff's officers.  They are both accused with felony conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and first-degree murder.

The Cumberland Area Juvenile Detention Center is where the minors are being housed.
Deputies from the Robeson County Sheriff's Office responded to the Sonya Dr., Maxton, in response to a single shot on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at at 7:44 p.m. Upon the arrival of the deputies, Triston Chavis was discovered to be dead.
The inquiry is still ongoing. The case is being looked into by the homicide division of the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
