Asheville City Bus Route WE1 Service Alert 

Asheville -- Monday, April 11, 2022: The City of Asheville announced changes in a bus route neginning Wednesday, April 13, 2022. The WE1 route between the ART Station and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Tunnel Rd. (Eastbound and

Westbound) will only run once per hour due to ongoing driver shortages.

Until further notice, all trips scheduled 40 minutes after the hour from the downtown ART Station eastbound to the VA have been canceled. All trips from the VA Westbound to the downtown ART station commencing 8 minutes after the hour are also canceled until further notice.
There will be no changes to the WE1 service between New Leicester Highway Walgreens and the ART Station.

We apologize for any difficulty caused by this service reduction. ART is aggressively recruiting and retaining drivers, and service will be restored as quickly as feasible. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your patience.
