Waynesville woman arrested in Maine
WAYNESVILLE -- A Waynesville woman was arrested in Chester, Maine Monday, September 24, 2018.
Deputy Stone of Penobscot County, Maine found an abandoned car with North Carolina plates on an Access Road in Chester. The car was registered 55-year-old Patricia Papp of Waynesville.
Papp's mother, 78-year-old Mary Coleman Papp had been found in her home on September 13th, 2018.
Later that week it was reported that a woman and dog had been camping on private property near Chester but the deputy didn't find her.
Friday, a retired trooper saw Papp walking along the side of the road. She was taken into custody and held at Penobscot County Jail without bail awaiting extradition to North Carolina for concealment of a death.
Her mother's cause of death has not yet been released.
