At approximately 4:30 p.m. on December 15 the Asheville Police Department encountered Lukyas Lee Harbison (18), of Asheville, in the area of the Westgate Shopping Center. Harbison was known by officers to have multiple open warrants. Harbison fled from officers, on foot, in the direction of the French Broad River. A short time later he was located and taken into custody without further incident.
Harbison was charged with resist, delay, obstruct and served with open warrants for:
Trafficking in Opium of Heroin (4 counts)
Assault by pointing a gun
Conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon
Robbery with a dangerous weapon
First degree burglary
Carrying a concealed gun
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Dangerous drugs free texts (3 counts)
Possession of stolen firearm
Grand Jury Indictment for Trafficking in Opium or Heroin (2 counts)
Lukyas Lee Harbison is currently being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility on a $160,000 secure bond.
