Commissioners Approve Continue Fare-Free Rides for Mountain Mobility

Asheville -- City of Asheville: In a time when it can be difficult to find or pay for transportation, the Buncombe County Board

of Commissioners is helping provide free transportation via Mountain Mobility. As part of an ongoing response to COVID-19, Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution to suspend rural general public fares from Oct. 1, 2020-June 30, 2021. This move, combined with other County funding and grant sources, ensures all Mountain Mobility customers can continue to ride for free.
